Assessment Guidelines received for Project EnergyConnect

15th January 2020

The South Australian State Planning Commission (SPC) recently issued ElectraNet with the Guidelines for the preparation of the Environmental Impact Statement (Guidelines) for the South Australian section of Project EnergyConnect.

The Guidelines specify the assessment requirements for the Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and stipulate that ElectraNet must identify, assess and address potential environmental, social and economic impacts.

ElectraNet will prepare an EIS in accordance with the Guidelines for the consideration of both State and Commonwealth governments.

Environmental Authorisation from both the State and Commonwealth governments is required before the South Australian section of Project EnergyConnect may proceed.
