Community engagement for proposed SA-NSW interconnector engagement goes virtual

Members of the public wanting to find out more about the proposed new electricity interconnector between South Australia and New South Wales, called Project EnergyConnect, can now visit an online engagement room.


ElectraNet Land Services Manager, Scott Haynes, said the new online tool expanded on the project’s comprehensive community engagement initiatives and activities.


“We want to make sure that we are giving interested members of the community as much information about the project as possible while also ensuring they have the opportunity to provide feedback as we continue to work through the approval and planning stages,” Mr Haynes said.

Increased bill reductions to flow from SA-NSW electricity interconnector

South Australian electricity customers can expect even greater savings from the proposed new interconnector between South Australia and New South Wales.

 

According to updated independent modelling, South Australian households can expect to save an average of $100 per year once the new interconnector, called Project EnergyConnect, is complete while businesses can also expect higher savings, proportional to their energy use.
